A glance back to the original property....

with the upper level removed...

now with internal rooms...

and the roof taking shape.

Again, the project at the end of 2016...

the plans are coming to life.

Original materials are kept in place...

along with new block work...

new timber work...

and the roof.

Additional second floor...

and ground floor living space.

The new external roof...

with battens and felt...

ready for the slates.

There are three key stages to this major building project: demolition and clearance, rebuilding and extending including the new roof and the development of the internal lay-out. South Hams Roofing has deployed a full team on site for several weeks; with stage one and two completed stage three remains – but it’s also well under way.

  • Remodelling of entire property.
  • New first and second floor living space.
  • A new roof to span the house and extension.
  • Internal rooms under construction.

Pete Scoble: “We are really pleased with the way that this project is running; not so long ago the focus was on the removal of the roof and first floor walls, but now we have come on leaps and bounds: the new roof is perhaps the most noticeable feature, but there we have also extended the floor space considerably and the new internal lay-out is really coming to life.”

With such a diverse scope of work the whole project has been a testament to the planning and all this has been made simple as South Hams Roofing has all the key skills in house, which allows for greater efficiency in time management. See here for Phase I and Phase II.

Pete Scoble: “We are not susceptible to the work loads of third party sub-contractors; the buck stops with us. All the demolition and removal of the old materials, all the new block-work and the high quality stonework and the new timber work and roof build, including the inner partitions for the rooms – have been provided by South Hams Roofing employees.”

Control over resources means control over time and this all translates to control over the budget. And with this level of efficiency it’s easier to plan in the specialist work of the plumbers and electricians.

With the new roof timers in place along with the felt and battens the temporary all-weather roof will soon come down… watch this space for the final installment of this major rebuild and remodelling project in the South Hams.
