Rhepanol is a unique synthetic rubber material which has revolutionised the approach to flat roofing. Any search on this material will more than likely inform you of two facts: 1 – The amount of Rhepanol used (some 80 million square meters over the last 40 years ) and 2 – The environmentally friendly nature as the material has no significant impact on the environment between its manufacture and its disposal.
Well at South Hams Roofing we are impressed by this, but what we think is of real interest are the more down to earth considerations. Rhepanol is an easy to use and highly durable solution for flat roofs and it is extremely effective at keeping moisture out and it can be laid on existing asphalt or felt roofs where the underlying structure is not damaged.
Rhepanol is a cost effective alternative to lead which is certainly a consideration for flat roof sections that are hidden from view, but with the right installation the material can be laid with raised edges to give the appearance of traditional lead work.
With Rhepanol solutions for living green roofs and a copper coated product as alternative to copper, there are a wide range of applications from the small repair of an old flat roof extension to a brand new eco-build home… and of course we would be very interested in hearing from you should you have any questions…
